Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Make a Difference!

At Life Church, we believe that, through God’s Word, Jesus teaches us that the two most important things we can do as Christians are to love God and love our neighbors. Loving our neighbors means reaching out as a community of believers to those around us who need assistance and hope and sharing the good news of God’s love with them. However, making a difference goes beyond simply telling others about God’s love; it requires love in action. This means putting in the effort to build relationships, meeting people where they are, and participating in their journey to where God is leading them. By partnering with local ministries, missions, and organizations, we can significantly impact our city, and there’s a place for everyone who wants to get involved.

Serve Day Recap!

On-Going Serve Opportunities

Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd

Established in 1983 as a modest Soup Kitchen, Good Shepherd has grown to become the largest provider of homeless services in the region. Current programs include the Soup Kitchen which serves over 89,000 meals a year. The Good Shepherd Center receives thousands of pounds of food donations every day from various participating grocery stores in Wilmington. The Second Helpings program provides volunteers with the opportunity to sort these food donations and package them for distribution to families in need.

First Fruit Ministries

First Fruits Ministries focuses on supportive housing for women and families and street outreaches, including street feeding programs, food pantry services, outreach to home-bound widows, and a day shelter that provides medical care, emergency services, and housing referrals. They seek to provide holistic solutions that rescue victims from their traffickers, move people from the streets into housing, and bring healing to wounded souls. As homelessness and trafficking grow rapidly in our city, First Fruits Ministries is pushing further into the streets and dark places to offer hope and restoration.
