David Blevins
David Blevins was born in 1939 in Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma, before beginning his professional career with Exxon.
After several successful years with Exxon, David eventually settled in Waynesville, North Carolina, where he built a successful business career. Over the years, he developed one of the largest heating oil companies in the region, owned and operated more than 15 convenience stores, provided wholesale gasoline to over 35 outlets, and built a thriving restaurant business that included seven Huddle House locations.
But as impressive as his business success has been, David’s greatest legacy has never been measured in companies, properties, or accomplishments. His greatest legacy is found in his faith, his family, and the countless lives he has encouraged along the way.
David overcame a difficult childhood that included a home without a foundation of faith, the pain of alcoholism in his family, and even a season living in an orphanage. Yet by the grace of God, his story became one of redemption, strength, and faithfulness.
David married his wife, Lynda, and together they raised four children, all of whom are now serving the Lord. After Lynda’s passing, David later married Nancy, and this year they are celebrating 20 years of marriage.
He has faithfully helped build the local church through eldership, administration, wisdom, generosity, and steady spiritual leadership.
David Blevins has built — and is still building — a legacy of godly families. His life continues to inspire men and women to overcome their past, follow Jesus fully, lead their families well, and become everything God has called them to be.
